GREENPEACE COLLABORATES WITH GSA ON THEIR CLICK CLEAN CAMPAIGN
When we started GSA, we knew that working with animals in any kind of production can be a costly and difficult decision. It is certainly a creative choice that often falls beyond the scope of ad agencies pitching to clients in the charity and non-profit world.
So it is especially gratifying when creatives who would otherwise not consider using animals in their spots call us. This was the case with our recent collaboration with the global campaigner Greenpeace on their “Click Clean” ads.
On June 11, 2014, we were approached directly by the VIA Agency in Portland, Maine (www.theviaagency.com) to supply them with clips for their Greenpeace campaign. At the time they were storyboarding four spots aimed at promoting green energy in the tech industry. Within two weeks the spots were in production and they aired worldwide by the end of August.
The spots feature the stand-up comic Reggie Watts and each one bear the titles, “Animals,” “Sun,” “Water” and “Wind.” In all, GSA supplied VIA with 10 animals which were featured in 3 of the ads including a prairie dog, white tiger cub, wallaby, duck, baboon, and wolf to name a few.
The process was as seamless and straight-forward as we could hope for. After the initial conversation, our Director of Sales, James Knapp, made his suggestions to the producers at VIA. Once we received their wish list and the storyboards, we made our selections and sent back the clips we thought were a perfect fit. After the selections were approved, the final high res files were delivered through our cloud service.
What made this collaboration all the more rewarding was that we were able to give Greenpeace a discount, which we usually offer our non-profit clients. We see ourselves as a company with a conscience and this type of project helps us reaffirm our business philosophy.
